NETheatre is a discussion list designed specifically for communication about theatre in New England. The list is intended to serve the interests of two theatre organizations: New England Theatre Conference (NETC) and the New England section of the US Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT/NE). It is maintained on a server at Bridgewater (MA) State College in support of its educational mission.
NETC and USITT/NE are organizations to support and encourage all theatre in New England, and you need only an interest in theatre to participate in the discussions and exchanges of information. Every message sent to NETheatre@bridgew.edu will be sent automatically to all subscribers to the list. Please respect others by not sending personal messages and/or those not related to the interests of theatre. This is a "closed list," meaning that only subscribers may post, but the postings are not monitored or censored. Bridgewater State College, NETC, and USITT/NE assume no responsibility for the content of any message. There is no provision for a public archive of past messages.
Some of the purposes of this list include:
-Finding things theatrical: scripts, resources, people,
ideas, advice.
-Obtaining answers to technical problems.
-Discussing approaches to scripts.
-Announcements of auditions and positions.
-Announcements of festivals, conferences, publications,
events (all theatrical, of course).
-Advocacy and communication for collective action on arts-
related issues.
-Discussion of issues related to the arts in general and
theatre in particular.
-Assisting students and others in locating programs and
defining their goals in theatre.
-Announcements for the general membership of NETC and
USITT/NE.
-ETC.
